LYTE is a Non-Governmental Organisation registered in Ghana with the object to uplifting the aspirations and giving hope to all persons in society, particularly the hopeless, and the poor to vulnerable members. We also educate and create awareness of the rights, privileges and responsibilities of all persons and other civil society organisations in the context of human rights and good governance, and within the confines of constitutional governance and the furtherance of the criminal justice system in Ghana. We are also engaged in raising financial assistance and logistical support for the needy in times of emergency, whilst engaging in conflict resolution and management. We are also largely engaged in public interest cases as well as research, advocacy and capacity building. LYTE does this by providing legal education, and offering pro bono legal services. We monitor, evaluate and analyses government performance within the context of good governance and constitutionality.
We provide hopeful services to mankind. We do this by engaging in advocacy and capacity building at the local community level with a view to supporting child education, offering solutions to micro investment challenges, and proffering alternatives in existing opportunities. We advise on investment initiatives and sustainability. We provide relief services to the distressed. We rally financial and logistical support for the needy where need be, and serves to preempt and/or resolve conflicts before they get out of hand. We provide an enabling environment for better livelihood initiatives. We engage in job creation and sustainable employment opportunities to bringing about improvement in livelihood. We mitigate and resolve conflict through dialogue and mediation thereby minimizing if not eliminating any such conflicts. This thereby assures and ensure lives in peace and tranquility, guarantee sustainable development and social welfare. We educate and explain government policy directives and programmes and its impact on society. We monitor, observe and assure good governance at governmental level. We also engage in human rights protection of all forms and facilitate and/or partake in the criminal and civil justice system in Ghana by particularly offering pro bono services to the poor, protecting the human rights of children, women, and in particular sex workers, and prisoners. These include remand prisoners without trial and persons without legal representation during trials. We bridge Partnership linkages by collaborating with other entities to form synergies for better assistance to the communities. We provide legal education to community members, civil society and local government structures. We also provide pro bono legal services to the vulnerable in society whose annual earnings is below set benchmarks. LYTE in partnership with our legal partners leverage high-level legal expertise to addressing regulatory legal framework, contractual, investments and other related matters in governance. We assist government and civil society groups to build a just, equitable and accountable society in the context of good governance.
